It all started when…
I graduated from Michigan State University with degrees in Advertising and Graphic Design with the goal of a career focused on creating engaging visual experiences. After moving to Chicago and spending a few years working in the Media Industry, I realized that my interest in understanding the task-based systems needs of my coworkers far outweighed my interest in negotiating media buys.
I returned to school, got an internship in User Experience, and earned my Masters Degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) at DePaul University. My internship was a crash course in the practical need for user experience design and research and I never turned back. Since then, I have worked in a variety of industries and environments - agency, Agile, SaaS, and B2B commerce. I am always looking for new and unique problem spaces to delve into. I enjoy taking complex problems and distilling them into simple experiences. I have a background in user experience architecture, interaction, interface, and service design, discovery research and strategy, prototyping, and usability assessment.
